Today I probably took less than 10 total steps on snow. Miles were easier and my body didn’t need to fight through the slipping and sliding of the slippery walking surface. It was a slow morning, but once on the trail, it slowly climbed out of the valley the Tamarack Lakes day in and meandered along ridge lines for the majority of the day. It was often windy, but in the absence of snow, very manageable. The day finished with a decent descent to Quincy Laporte Rd to make for a 30 mile day.
