Day 39 – Tahoe

A quick mile to Aloha Lake and then the snow returned for the better part of the trip up towards Dick Pass. Alpine Lakes and the scenery of Desolation Wilderness was breathtaking, with most the mountains still sporting a solid coat of snow on top. The end of the day was spent circling and climbing the hills with great views of Lake Tahoe. Snow drifts were aplenty, but the views all made it worth it and knowing a resupply would be taking place tomorrow in Truckee was all the motivation needed. For the first time in two weeks, I was free to eat as much food as possible all day. The trail largely followed the Tahoe Rim Trail late in the day. On to Truckee, one of my favorite towns tomorrow!
