I think I finally surpassed the amount of sleep my body can store up. I wen to bed relatively early but was restless all night. On top of the inability to fall into a deep sleep, the condensation was so bad where I camped that the inside of my tent was like a rain forest. I woke up a couple times with drips falling right in the middle of my forehead. It felt like Chinese water torture. Luckily the clouds stayed away through most the morning and I moved quick with a cup of instant coffee in my hand. I feel 100% today and was chomping at the bit to get back to the normal mileage I have had over the last 5 months. It was a weird day. I was pretty quick over the 12,000’ terrain but this same terrain had a dusting of snow on it. The wind was intermittent but biting, and the cloud had both long sun breaks and also dark clouds. Not many people were out on the trail, but there were footprints in the snow so maybe I will meet someone in the coming days. I am almost to New Mexico, but first some more high altitude hiking.
