About Me

My name is Jeff Garmire (trail name Legend). I am a 26-year-old who just completed; the Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, and the Continental Divide Trail in one year. This is also known as the calendar triple crown of hiking. I will continue to update this site with new and future projects. Some big things are coming for Freeoutside.

Trail name: My trail name is “Legend” and was earned due to some strategic hitching back into Wrightwood, CA in order to grab pizza for a group of fellow PCT thru hikers camped at the nearby visitors’ center. After all, when you are a thru hiker pizza is truly legendary, especially if it is not dehydrated.

A few of my outdoors accomplishments:

-2011 – completed the Pacific Crest Trail (2,650 miles) in a big snow year in under 4 months

-2014 – Hiked the Pacific Northwest Trail (1,250 miles) in 45 days

-2015 – Climbed all 58 of the Colorado 14,000′ peaks on top of working full time, as well as climbing Mt. Rainier

-2016 – Hiked the Calendar Triple Crown (Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, and Continental Divide Trail) in one year

-Hiked/climbed over 15,000 miles 6 years

-Avid Backcountry skier and have skied off the summit of numerous 10,000+ foot peaks.

Hopefully, you enjoy following along with my adventures and feel free to contact me and follow along with my journeys on multiple social media platforms!
