Day 63 – one dry shirt

We woke up and were on the trail at a decent time climbing up into the green mountains of Vermont. The trail was slushy and soon my shoes were wet along with everything else. As the day wore on the weather worsened and soon the skys opened up and the downpour began shortly after the road VA 9. It was bad and got progressively worse. There was not a dry inch of me and by the time I got to the shelter my attitude was even soggy. I hung my stuff and hoped it didn’t freeze and then made a backpackers pantry freeze dried dinner before tucking in. Have no fear, it froze and snowed over night bringing yet another winter storm my way.
