Day 222-Let it snow

CDT day 50 -Miles Hiked today: 27

CDT total distance traveled: 1742

Total trip miles: 6622

Avg temps: 60s

Injuries: hamstring Achilles

Pain:

Exhaustion level: moderate

Favorite meal: dehydrated casserole It rained all night which means it snowed above 11k feet. Luckily I continued my vacation demeanor and was able to go in to Leadville for coffee and breakfast with Taylor before hitting the trail. It sure is cold in the morning. My water bottles ice up and the ground is a frozen tundra. As soon as I made it back up to the tops of ridges it became more of a pressing issue to push through Colorado. Winter is coming and snow is already here. I saw quite a few people out for a weekend and also some section hikers doing a few hundred miles of the continental divide trail. The fact that it is getting dark around 730 pm is providing more problems as far as getting in substantial mileage in before dark. This last month should be quite the adventure.
