Day 195- Lima

CDT day 23-Miles Hiked today: 34

CDT total distance traveled: 795

Avg temps: 80s with 30s in the morning

Injuries: none

Pain: Achilles pain

Exhaustion level: moderate

Favorite meal: homemade strawberry smoothie I woke up in a cloud. I had decided to camp under the stars with no tent and thankfully it did not rain on me or I would have been half asleep putting up a tent in the middle of the night. I was so tired I actually slept through my first two alarms. Thankfully my body automatically gets up at 630. I rose and drank my cold coffee as I walked into the clouds. It was cold. As I met half a dozen hikers we had some small talk regarding the weather and they surprisingly had heard about my triple crown attempt as well. When the day closed in on early afternoon the weather finally turned and the clouds burned off. It became another “Big Sky day.” I once again walked the ridges and socialized with the cows. Around 430 and after 34 miles I reached Interstate 15. If you will remember I crossed this highway way down in Southern California months ago at Cajon Pass where there is now a giant fire. I got a ride to Lima from the owner of the Motel there and began some repairs. I began icing my Achilles back to health to prepare for the next 2,000 miles.
